General 信息
At the 杜波依斯 Campus, office buildings are open from 8:00 a.m. 至下午5时.m. and academic buildings generally are open from 7:00 a.m. 直到晚上10点.m. These facilities are intended for use by students, 员工, and guests of the University. Access to an individual classroom, 当然, is limited to those enrolled in the courses meeting there. Likewise, access to most programs is limited to those enrolled in the program.
To make it as convenient as possible for students, 员工, and guests to report criminal or other unusual incidents, all phones are programmed for direct calls to County Control Emergency Services.
University facilities are well-maintained and their security given consistent attention in the interest of students, 教职员工. Landscaping and outdoor lighting on campus are designed for security, with the attempt to provide pedestrians peace of mind. Sidewalks are designed to provide well-traveled, lighted routes from parking areas to buildings and from building to building. Grounds-keeping personnel trim shrubs from sidewalks, 人行道, and building entrances to provide a well-lighted route to buildings. All campus 人行道 are inspected at least twice a year to ensure adequate lighting. Burned-out lights are replaced promptly.
As needs are identified, new sidewalks are installed. New street lights and pedestrian walkway lights are added as new parking areas and 人行道 are developed or as roadways are changed and playing fields are relocated.
